Sedation
Sedation from £50
A range of anxiety management techniques are available to help manage your dental phobia or anxiety about dental treatment.
Sedation involves reducing your fears and making you more relaxed during your treatment.
Depending of the depth of the sedation medication being used as well as your own medical condition various monitors are used. Staff will always be with you and closely observing you throughout the treatment.
At Hillbrook Dental Health Centre, our dentist and dental team have had extra training to provide sedation-based treatment safely at the practice. This service helps patients who want to feel particularly relaxed and not anxious during their treatment
This can be achieved using one of the following three forms of sedation:
- Oral sedation (anti-anxiety tablets)
- Inhalation sedation (known as 'laughing gas', 'happy gas', 'gas and air', relative analgesia, nitrous oxide)
- Intravenous sedation (known as IV sedation which is a drug that is administered into the blood stream by your vein)
None of these involves you going to sleep, but do speak to our dental team for more information and our dentists will be more than happy to have a chat and help in any way.
